TxDOT to Close Southbound I-35 Frontage Road, 4th Street under I-35

WACO, Texas (July 28, 2021) - The Texas Department of Transportation plans to close a section of the southbound I-35 frontage road tonight (Wednesday, July 28) and 4th Street over the weekend for I-35 Waco construction project.

TONIGHT: Southbound Frontage Road from University Parks Drive to 4th Street

Crews plan to close the southbound I-35 frontage road from University Parks Drive to 4th Street overnight tonight, July 28, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving work. Drivers will be directed to use westbound University Parks Drive, Clay Avenue and 5th Street to reconnect with the southbound I-35 frontage road.

THIS WEEKEND INTO MONDAY: 4th Street Under I-35 - Friday, July 30 to Monday, Aug. 2

Crews plan to close 4th Street where it crosses under I-35 beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 30, through to Monday evening, Aug. 2, for paving work.

• The signals at 4th Street, 5th Street and University Parks Drive will be in a red flashing condition for the full duration of the closure.
• Police will be on site Monday, Aug. 2, during peak travel times.
• Traffic will be directed to the northbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at University Parks Drive.
