Gov. Bill Daniel, the famed, flamboyant Texas trial lawyer and Baylor University law graduate who served as the Governor of the U.S. Territory of Guam, died at his home in Liberty, Texas, on Tuesday, June 20. He was 90.
During a special ceremony in the building that bears his name, Baylor University recognized J. Harry Jeanes for his lifelong service to Baylor and the community by bestowing an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters upon the longtime Waco businessman, Baylor graduate and regent emeritus.
Baylor University's "Teaching American History" Summer Institute will host noted U.S. philosopher Jacob Needleman, author of "The American Soul: Rediscovering the Wisdom of the Founders," for a free public lecture on June 13.
