What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a way to transfer audio files over the internet. Through what is called an RSS feed, audio files are transmitted to your computer. These audio files can then be listened to on your computer or transferred from your computer on to an MP3 player device, such as an iPod.
How do I get started?
To begin you will first need to download some sort of podcasting software. Programs such as iTunes and Juice allow you to access RSS feeds and the audio files that are transmitted through them. Once you download and install your podcasting software, simply add the Mayborn RSS feed. Your podcasting software will look to the RSS feed for updates regularly and if it finds any, it will download these new files to your computer automatically.
I got the podcast! Now what?
Load the podcast onto your MP3 player. Bring your MP3 player into our 'Wrapped in Tradition' exhibit and enjoy a self-led tour. Throughout the exhibit you will find certain displays and objects that have numbers associated with them. These numbers correspond to a Mayborn podcast episode on your MP3 player. Play the corresponding episode to learn more about the object you are viewing.
