Zuhl Collection of Petrified Tree Cross Sections

The Mayborn is pleased to announce an extension of the Zuhl Collection of Petrified Tree Cross Sections, an exhibit on loan courtesy of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The exhibit includes 26 fossilized tree cross sections, varying in size from 8 inches in diameter to over 40, some of which date back millions of years. These samples display an amazing variety of colors produced during the process of fossilization, from vibrant reds and yellows, to pale blues and white hues. See and touch these beautiful specimens that come from a wide range of trees including oak, palm, and sequoias, and were found in a variety of states including Texas, Oregon, Arizona and Utah.

You may see this incredible collection through September 25, 2007 in the exhibit hallway next to the SBC Theater.

Admission to the exhibit is included with your entry fee!

For more information, please call 254-710-1110.

Remember to bring your camera and make memories of this fun time with your family!
