Martin Museum of Art to Feature 144th American Watercolor Society International Traveling ExhibitionJuly 5, 2011
The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University will feature the 144th American Watercolor Society International Traveling Exhibition. The exhibition is scheduled to be at the Martin Museum of Art from July 5 to August 13.
The American Watercolor Society was founded in 1866 and is dedicated to the art of watercolor. This traveling exhibition, selected from the original New York exhibition, consists of forty paintings executed by artists from all corners of the United States. They were selected from 108 paintings chosen for this year's exhibition, and were originally selected from over 1,100 slides submitted to an elected jury.
Joyce Hicks, a 2011-2012 American Watercolor Society award winner, will offer a gallery talk and demonstration beginning at 1:30 pm, July 13, at the Martin Museum of Art. This event is free and the public is cordially invited.
The Martin Museum of Art is located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor University campus. Hours are 10-5 Tuesday through Friday, and 12-5pm on Saturday. The museum is closed during university holidays. Admission is free and all events are open to the public, unless specified.
