The mission of the Baylor University Libraries is to connect people with ideas. Let us help you make those connections.

Find materials available through the Baylor Libraries

Books, CD's, DVD's, Journals (by journal title) - This type of material will have records in BearCat, the BU Libraries' catalog.

Items not available at Baylor may be available through Interlibrary Services. Search the holdings of libraries world-wide through WorldCat. For more hints on finding books and other materials see the Find Books tip sheet.

Find articles and more online

Journal articles are indexed in print indexes and online index databases. Many (though not all) online indexes also have direct links to full text.

The Electronic Resources database provides access to online indexes. Pick from the "Resources by Subject" list to find databases appropriate to your topic. For relevant print indexes, start with a Research Guide. For more hints on finding articles see the Find Articles tip sheet.

Locating materials in the Baylor Libraries

BearCat, the Libraries' online catalog, indicates the location, call number, and status of an item. Be sure to note both the location and the call number for any items you would like to use - you'll need both pieces of information.

BearCat example
LOCATION Often the location is a hyperlink that helps you find the area of the library where the item is located. You can also use our Guide to BearCat Locations.
CALL # Some locations within the central libraries, such as "Moody General Collection," actually include several floors. Consult the Central Libraries - Locations by Call Number for assistance locating these materials.
STATUS If the status says "AVAILABLE" the item should be on the shelf and ready for checkout. Some materials may be "LIBRARY USE ONLY." The materials should be on the shelf, but may not be checked out.
