The Collection Development unit assesses and manages the University Libraries' collections. Liaison librarians, as part of the collection development team, work with university faculty to build and maintain a collection that supports student and faculty teaching, learning, and research. Collection Development unit responsibilities include:

• Coordinating selection of books, journals, electronic resources, and media
• Coordinating liaison librarian and Collection Development Committee activities
• Providing and developing collection development tools
• Evaluating and assessing the collections
• Developing collection policies
• Accepting and processing gifts
• Compiling and reporting collections data for reviews and accreditations
• Maintaining an online wishlist of items under consideration for purchase when funds become available

The Collection Development office is located on the Garden Level of Moody Library.
