June 10, 1928 Born in Utica, New York
Reared by grandfather and aunt after his mother died when he was 7 months old.
1936 Began collecting buttons when his grandfather gave him an Al Landon for President button
1946 Graduated from high school in New York Mills, New York
Dec. 28, 1947 Married Ruth in Pennsylvania. Four sons: Tim, Mel, Jim, Bob. Eleven grandchildren,five great-grandchildren plus two on the way.
1950 Graduated from Milligan College in Tennessee
1956 Graduated from Lexington College of the Bible (now Lexington Theological Seminary)
1963 Graduated from Texas Tech with Ph.D. in Philosophy
1963-1967 Taught at McMurray University, Abilene, Texas
1967-1990 Taught at Tarrant County Junior College (now Tarrant County College). Founding faculty member, Department of Sociology
1990-present Pursued his hobby of book and political memorabilia collecting. Opened store in Fort Worth Stockyards.
1993, 1993 Visited Russia and collected political materials
2004 Began donating materials to Poage Legislative Library
