The W. R. Poage Legislative Library hosts several exhibitions, an open house, book signings and a speaker each year. Each event is designed to educate and entertain our guests from Baylor, Waco and surrounding communities. The history of our political process comes alive at the Poage Library.

EXHIBITIONS

Materials for Poage exhibitions come from our collections, as well as items loaned to us. Doris Hamm Walsh provided personal items for our exhibits on her father cartoonist Jack Hamm, while our current exhibition celebrating the Lincoln Bicentennial uses materials exclusively from the collection of Judge Jack Hightower.

OPEN HOUSES

The Poage Library holds an Open House each October in conjunction with National Archives Week. Library supporters come for tours, refreshments and games. To view photos from previous Open Houses, click the link in the callout box on the right.

ANNUAL POAGE LECTURE SERIES

The lecture series was established to bring notable politicians to the Baylor campus to present a lecture dealing with a topic or publication relative to the political process. Attendees include Baylor students, faculty and staff, as well as citizens from Waco and surrounding communities.
