Moody Library To Host TMLA Annual Meeting Oct. 8-9

Oct. 6, 2010

The Texas Music Library Association will host its annual meeting with music librarians throughout the state at Baylor this Friday and Saturday, October 8 and 9.

The conference will be held in the Prichard Information Commons on the second floor of Moody Memorial Library and will begin at 1:15 on Friday afternoon, featuring presentations from various institutions including UNT, Rice, SMU and TAMU-Kingsville. Click here for a full conference schedule.

The annual conference allows music librarians to present papers on work they have been involved in at their respective music library.

Planning for the event has been a joint effort between Bruce Evans, unit leader for Cataloging and Metadata, and Sha Towers, unit leader for Crouch Fine Arts Library.

The event provides a great opportunity for "networking, sharing what we have been doing, and getting ideas from other people," Bruce Evans said.

The Texas Music Library Association aims to encourage the growth and sharing of music literature in libraries and provide a base for the exchange of ideas regarding music within Texas libraries.
