Lewis and Clark First 'Featured Selections' Display

Feb. 10, 2004

The bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition is the theme of the first 'Featured Selections' display located in the first-floor corridor of Moody Memorial Library and Jesse H. Jones Library. The display is the first created by a library staff committee on shelves which formerly featured new books.

Library staff members Olga Paradis, Joan Kasik and Sha Towers worked together to identify and gather materials about the expedition and related events in Western American history of the early 1800s. The display includes old and new books, journals and journal articles, government documents, maps and digitized prints of paintings depicting events from the expedition.

Watch for a link to the online version of the 'Featured Selections,' coming soon to the libraries' home page. The online version includes links to electronic resources and Lewis and Clark web sites.

Comments and suggestions for future themes may be sent to members of the 'Featured Selections' team at Team members are Kasik, Britt McClung, Paradis, John Robinson, Jeff Steely and Towers.
