Ferguson-Clark Author Lecture Successful

Nov. 16, 2003

The Ferguson-Clark Author Lecture with David McCullough was a success on many fronts. Response to the lecture from the campus, alumni and the Waco community was overwhelmingly positive. The lecture can be viewed on the Baylor Channel or via streaming video from the BaylorTV.com website at the following address: Approximately 1,000 people attended the lecture in Waco Hall, and 200 guests attended the patron reception at Armstrong Browning Library following the lecture. Everyone had fun visiting with the author and his wife, Rosalee, as well as having their favorite books signed. From a fund-raising perspective, the lecture raised approximately $15,000 from ticket sales. This is more than double what was earned last year! The proceeds will be used to add student-friendly study and meeting areas on the first floor of Moody near the Main Circulation Desk. This project will be completed before the start of spring semester. -- Mary Goolsby, Library Advancement
