Armstrong Browning Library will host their fifth annual Valentine's Day Extravaganza

Feb. 2, 2014

On Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, Armstrong Browning Library will host their fifth annual Valentine's Day Extravaganza from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the McLean Foyer of Meditation.

The event, titled "Music for the Heart," will feature a desert reception and a string orchestra performing classical and contemporary selections.

Carlos Colón, Armstrong Browning Library's Artist-In-Residence, has arranged a musical program that includes selections from "Fiddler on the Roof" and the theme of "Downton Abbey," as well as popular tunes by Train, Journey and The Beatles.

"The program will be entertaining and inspiring performance of music that is fun and beautiful," Colón said.

Baylor students can purchase tickets at a discounted price ($35 per couple, $20 per individual). The library will have an online contest on their Facebook page for a chance to win free tickets to the event.

The library wishes to extend the invitation for the Valentine's Day Extravaganza to the Baylor family and the Waco community. Armstrong Browning Library is excited to present this event and celebrate the love Robert and Elizabeth Barret Browning shared.

"It will be a great afternoon for people who like popular music with an orchestral sound and spending time with loved ones," Colón said.
