Libraries Host Abstract Writing Workshops

The Baylor University Libraries will host a series of workshops on writing abstracts beginning Tuesday, February 19, through Friday, February 22.

Although these sessions are geared towards undergraduates planning to submit abstracts for Scholar's Week, scholars and researchers of all ages are welcome.

Abstract Writing for Humanities and the Social Sciences

  • Learn how to write an abstract that is concise and to the point while still conveying the salient points of your argument in a logical manner.
  • Spend time actually writing your abstract under the guidance of library faculty.

Abstract Writing for the Sciences, Engineering, and the Social Sciences

  • Learn how to write an abstract that concisely addresses your hypothesis, methods, analysis, and conclusions.

  • Bring your lunch, laptop, and abstract and have your abstract reviewed by peers and faculty.
