The Texas Collection, Baylor University's oldest special collections library, houses a variety of materials pertaining to the history and culture of Texas and Texans. Located in Carroll Library, The Texas Collection has archived a wide array of materials to share the history of Texas, including:
  • Early maps of Texas
  • Texas promotional materials from the 19th and 20th century
  • Baylor presidential papers from pre-1886 to the present
  • More than 760 oral memoirs
  • An extensive Texas cookery collection that includes cookbooks from the 1800s
  • Collections of Branch Davidian crisis of 1993
  • The papers of Dorothy Scarborough and Leon Jaworski
  • A collection of Carl Hertzog fine print titles
  • Materials on Texas sports teams, coaches, players, venues, and halls of fame
  • Every issue of the Baylor Lariat
  • The Sciences in Texas including oil, gas, geology, vanished towns, hydrogeology, meteorology, tornados, hurricanes, and soils
  • Materials on Texas law enforcement including Texas Rangers, outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde, famous lawyers and Texas jurisprudence
