Library Application Process
Requirements for Student Employment:
-
Student must be enrolled or show intent to continue his/her academic
career at Baylor.
-
Student must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher.
-
A first priority is given to students who qualify for Federal Work Study.
Students should be sure to accept their Work Study award amounts on Bear
Web. Approximately 3-4 weeks after the semester has begun, applications
for those students who qualify for University Work Study will be reviewed.
Library Application Process:
-
Complete an application either online at Baylor.edu/libraryjobs or in person in room G-19 on the Garden Level of Moody
-
The application is then reviewed by the Administrative Manager for
hours of availability, unit requests, skills, previous work history and
GPA to determine which library unit to send the application.
-
Unit supervisors ultimately decide who they want to interview.
-
The hiring supervisor will contact the student/s they wish to interview. Please be aware that not every candidate is
selected for an interview.
-
If the library unit does not interview or request to hire you, then your
application is directed to another library unit for review.
Library Hiring Process:
-
The Administrative Manager will notify each candidate when
the hiring paperwork is complete granting the prospective employee
approval to work.
-
If the prospective employee has never worked for Baylor, he/she must fill
out standard employment forms (ie: I-9 and W-4) prior to or on his/her
first day or work.
- Contact the Administrative Manager to schedule a time to complete these forms.
-
The student employee will be required by their supervisor to fill out a
Library Student Employee Policies contract and nondisclosure agreement and will be given the Student
Employee Handbook.
