Baylor Law Professor Tom Featherston, the Mills Cox Professor of Law, will moderate a panel discussion on Marital Property Issues at the 18th annual Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Course at 8:30 a.m. April 12 in Santa Fe, N.M.
The panel, "His, Her or Their Property--A Discussion of Marital Property Issues Affecting the Estate Planning Process, will focus on such issues as characterizing interests in and distributions from trusts and family businesses; plannning around and for reimbursement and fraud on the community claims; planning for the retirement plan upon the death of the participant or the participant's spouse; creating and funding the revocable trust; and solving the problems with a "pre-nup" and "post-nup," among others. Panelists include Alvin J. Golden of Ikard Golden Jones, Noel C. Ice II of Cantey Hanger and Stephanie Donaho of Locke Lord. The course is sponsored by the TexasBar CLE and the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
