Baylor Law Teams Win Regional National Trial Competition
Congratulations to the teams of Brad Ryynanen and Kelsey Warren, and TJ Jones and Mark Altman who won 1st and 2nd place at the regional National Trial Competition in New Orleans. Both teams advance to the National Competition in March.
Baylor Law School marks 90th anniversary of Johnson v. Darr
Baylor Law School and the Judge Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court, celebrated the 90th anniversary of Johnson v. Darr. At a time when women had not been granted the right to serve on a jury and before women served on the lower Texas courts, this case marked the first time a Supreme Court was appointed all women. The unprecedented nature of the event drew nation-wide attention in 1925, including coverage in the New York Times.
Baylor Law Toy Drive Spreads Christmas Cheer
Baylor Law School is an official Waco ISD Adopt-a-School partner of Bell's Hill Elementary in South Waco. For the past three years, the Law School has raised money to purchase a new gift for every child in the school.
Women's Legal Society Grants Christmas Wishes
The Women's Legal Society of Baylor Law adopted five families – 20 kids total – from Bell's Hill Elementary School and granted every Christmas wish on their list. This Christmas project has become a long-standing tradition of the Women's Legal Society.
