Correspondence With Employers

In addition to your resume, to apply for most positions you likely will have to send some form of correspondence to establish an initial contact with a potential employer. Your goal in drafting your correspondence, whether in the form of an email or letter, is to catch the employer's attention and earn an interview. It is important for you to tailor your correspondence to fit the specific situation. Don't use form letters, and be sure to maintain a professional approach. Proofread your correspondence carefully.
