A Message from John Ginn, JD '89, President, Baylor Law Alumni Association

I welcome our 7,049 Baylor Lawyers to the Baylor Law Alumni Association. In June 2012, the Law School hosted a Baylor Law Alumni Reception in conjunction with the State Bar Annual Meeting in Houston. The reception was a resounding success, and in the words of our beloved Dean Brad Toben, "we had - hands down - the most successful Law Alumni Association reception we have ever seen over the many years. We had a huge attendance!"

The energy and feel of our alumni about Baylor Law School is currently at an all time high! Let's keep it up. In order to continue to build the Baylor Law Alumni Association, I ask that you renew your membership dues. You can do this by renewing your annual dues for $30 or becoming a Lifetime Member of the Baylor Law Alumni Association for $300. You will receive a letter about renewing your dues in August 2012.

The Baylor Law Alumni Association sprang to life in 2011-2012. Dues revenue increased significantly; nearly twice as many alumni became Lifetime Members as had the previous year; and several of our Executive Committee members, energetically led by President Traci Kenner, traveled to Waco to interact with current students.

As president of the Baylor Law Alumni Association, I invite you to become more involved with the Association. There are several ways in which you can become more involved. The weekend of November 16 & 17, Baylor law alumni from all classes are invited to attend the exciting 2012 Baylor Law Alumni Weekend. The festivities include a Friday night dinner at the home of Judge and Mrs. Ken Starr, events at the school, special group seating for those who choose to attend a football game, and Saturday night dinner at Dean and Mrs. Brad Toben's home. Or, if you can't make it to Waco in November, Dean Toben and members of the Law School faculty will come to you. Please attend the alumni receptions and luncheons in your area. And you are always welcome to visit the incredible Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center when you find yourself in Waco. Take a tour and meet our current students - they are the future of our Association! Other ways to stay connected include updating your contact information online at; regularly visiting the Law School's revamped Web site at; reading the alumni magazine, The Docket Call, and the alumni e-newsletter, The Rocket Docket; and paying your Baylor Law Alumni Association dues.

To pay your dues, you can mail a check, payable to the "Baylor Law Alumni Association," to:
