Baylor Gold wants new recruits

Behind every good man is a good woman - at least when recruiting players for the Baylor football team.

In fact, the ladies of Baylor Gold are committed to the success of this recruiting season, and while the coaches are hard at work recruiting future Bears, Baylor Gold is hard at work recruiting future hostesses.

Baylor Gold is made up of female students who love football and want to help make the team championship material. They answer questions for the recruits, as well as show them around the campus and help them find a home in Baylor football.

In addition to being available for the recruits, the girls also hold office hours where they write letters to the recruits to keep them updated on Baylor events and make them feel welcome at Baylor.

'Baylor Gold is the face of Baylor for the recruits,' Hatt said. 'What we tell them and show them about the football program and about Baylor in general greatly influences their decision.'

According to the girls, the hard work pays off.

'It is amazing to see the recruits who you host in the fall come back for an official spring visit,' Beth Morlang, Baylor Gold president and Houston senior, said. 'And then when you see them on signing day, and you are able to cheer for them, you know your dedication was worth every minute.'

Those interested in becoming a member of Baylor Gold can get an application at the Student Activities office. Those applications are due at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
