With eight returning starters on the softball team, first year Coach Glenn Moore hopes to better last year's 27-30 record.

Moore came to Baylor after two-plus seasons as the head Coach at Louisiana State University.

He led the Tigers to a 117-25 record while on the way to winning two Southeastern Conference championships.

This year's experienced squad is looking to make Moore's first season a pleasant one.

'I am so impressed with Baylor's commitment to success,' Moore said on Baylor's athletic Web site. 'I'm looking forward to competing in the Big 12 Conference.

I think that the Big 12 is second only to the Pac-10 as the leading softball conference in the country.

With Oklahoma winning the national championship, it will only help us in recruiting.'
