Women's golf take 4th in tournament

The Lady Bears opened their spring season with a fourth place finish at the 2001 Midwest Classic at the Hyatt Bear Creek Golf Course in Dallas.

Men's Tennis off on right foot in conference play

The Baylor men's tennis team defeated The University of Colorado 5-2 Sunday and The University of Nebraska 4-3 on Friday to open their Big 12 season.

The two road victories moved the Bears up to 4-2 overall, 2-0 in the Big 12 and extended the team's winning streak to four matches.

Despite winning on both Friday and Sunday, the doubles team of Mark Williams and Reiner Neurohr fell to the No. 10 spot in the ITA rankings.

The Bears will take on Fresno State University at noon on Saturday at home.

Women's Tennis moves to 3-0 in Big 12 Conference

The Lady Bears won their 17th straight match at home, beating Texas Tech University 6-1 Saturday.

The Ladies improved to 9-2, 3-0 in conference play, while the Red Raiders fell to 6-2, 2-2 in the Big 12.

Three Lady Bears' singles fell in the latest ITA polls: Katja Kovac fell from No. 19 to No. 33, Jahnavi Parekh slipped 10 spots to No. 36 and Vida Mulec dropped from No. 50 to No. 64.

The next match for the Lady Bears will be over spring break as they play in San Diego on March 5.
