Women's tennis swept by No. 1

The Baylor women's tennis team has lost two matches in a row. Both loses have came by way of the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked teams in the nation, Stanford University and the University of Georgia.

The Lady Bears (4-2) lost 7-0 to Stanford (7-0) in the USTA / ITA Women's National Team Indoor Championships on Thursday in Madison, Wis. Stanford had a clean sweep of the Lady Bears, as they won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. Baylor's No. 2 singles Katja Kovac was the only Lady Bear to force a third set, but lost the tiebreaker.

The competition will not get a whole lot easier for Baylor, as the Lady Bears continue play today at 9 a.m. As of 10 p.m. Thursday night the Lady Bears' opponent had not been decided, but they will play either No. 8 University of California-Los Angeles, No. 14 Wake Forest, No. 14 Tennessee, No. 19 Ohio State, No. 21 Washington, No. 40 Oklahoma State or host Wisconsin.
