'Dream Team' member now lawyer of the year

Harold Nix, a 1965 graduate of Baylor Law School, was selected as Baylor lawyer of the year. The honor goes to alumni who make a contribution to the profession and bring honor to the Baylor Law School.

Nix was one of the five members of the 'Dream Team' that uncovered a $17.6 billion settlement for Texans from the tobacco industry. His firm, which he founded in the 1960s, is known for doing pro-bono work for the Women's Center of East Texas and Shelter Agencies for Families. Nix also gave money for the construction of the new law school building.

Nix will be honored March 31 in the Ferrell Center.

Academic advisement appointments are now available through Academic Development Services for summer and fall registration. All freshmen and undeclared students, as well as students in certain degree programs, must be advised before they can register for classes.
