The theater arts department will present 'Meet the Majors' weekend for high school and transfer students who are interested in pursuing a performance and design major on Friday and Saturday at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Building.
During the weekend, students will be able to meet and attend classes with the theater majors, and they will be treated as honored guests of the Baylor theatre department.
Amber Werley, a Stockdale junior and a performance major, has prepared for 'Meet the Majors' by recruiting prospective students. She said about 20 students are expected to attend the events.
'The 'Meet the Majors' experience will give interested students an opportunity to see the Baylor theater program from the inside out,' Werley said.
Students who attend 'Meet the Majors' weekend will have lunch with the Student Society Executive Council and faculty, and they will have dinner at Big Daddy's. Entertainment during the weekend includes attending Michael Cristofer's The Shadow Box, bowling and theater games.
Ginny O'Quinn, a Baylor sophomore and a performance major, said 'Meet the Majors' will 'go more in depth about the theatre department than say Spring Premiere.'
'If students do decide to come back to Baylor ... they will have already made some good friends,' O'Quinn said.
