The Baylor athletic media relations department is attempting to fill the Ferrell Center for the men's basketball team's first Big 12 Conference game of the season, on Jan. 6 against the University of Colorado.

The event, called Sellout 2001, has been scheduled to promote the team's second year under head Coach Dave Bliss.

'We are going to build on the excitement generated in Coach Bliss' first season, and use our first Big 12 home game to pack the Ferrell Center,' Associate Director of Athletics Darryl Lehnus said.

The game will be telecast regionally by ESPN at 3 p.m. as part of the Big 12's broadcast package.

Assistant soccer coach Rebecca Hornbacher and Baylor senior Courtney Saunders have been selected to participate in the Women's United Soccer Association combine.

The event will last from Dec. 4-11 at Florida Atlantic University.

Hornbacher was an all-American selection at the University of Nebraska, and Saunders earned that honor in 1998.

They will participate in five days of competition.

From the 2000 season, senior goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse and senior forward Molly Cameron are likely to be drafted when the league begins its inaugural season next spring.

The WUSA will include eight teams and almost all of the U.S. women's 1999 World Cup champion and 2000 Olympics silver medal-winning players.
