Locals to review party platforms

McLennan County Democratic Party Chairman John Cullar and M.A. Taylor, the Republican Party chairman, will discuss the differences between their party platforms at 7 tonight in the Cashion Academic Center, Room 105.

The event is co-sponsored by Baylor Democrats and Young Conservatives of Texas.

The annual 'Tribute to the Black Man,' sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta sorority, is intended to honor and encourage black men from Baylor and the Waco community.

The keynote speaker is Ché Hill, a Dallas playwright. The event will take place at 7 tonight in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center. Admission is free.

The Hankamer School of Business will receive $18,000 from ExxonMobil under the corporation's program to provide $1.9 million in grants to colleges and universities nationwide.

The grants are awarded to schools that offer degrees in educational fields from which the company recruits.

The amount of the grant is based on many factors.

Among other things, those factors include the number of ExxonMobil employees recruited from the school and recruiting success at the school over the past five years.
