Baylor sends condolences
in wake of bonfire accident
Just weeks after a nighttime accident took the life of Ted Bruton, a Texas A&M student, along with four Baylor students and a Southwest Texas State student, tragedy has struck again on the Texas A&M campus.
When the 40-foot pyramid of logs being stacked for the traditional bonfire fell early Thursday morning, so did the hearts of residents throughout Texas and across the country.
As a campus that has been through multiple accidents involving student deaths this semester, the Baylor family extends condolences to members of the Texas A&M family with hopes that after rescue attempts are complete, healing will be quick and complete.
In a situation like this, there are few answers. However, as individuals and as a university, we should be compassionate and pray that our Lord will put his healing hand on families, friends and Texas A&M University.
