Coach Bliss announces signees for following season

New head Coach Dave Bliss is already looking to the future and beginning to rebuild the Bears' basketball team, before his first regular season begins.

Bliss signed four high school players, all from Texas on Tuesday.

He did not look far for forward Mike Degrate, whose home is just 25 miles down the road at McGregor High School. The other forward, Logan Kosmalski, comes from Trinity High School in Euless.

Bliss also signed two guards, Matt Saymen of The Colony High School, and Caro Nobles of Houston Langham Creek High School.

Degrate, 6-foot-8-inches tall, averaged 19.7 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.8 blocks and earned District 17-3A most valuable player honors as a junior. Nobles, who stands 6-feet, contributed 19 points and five assists per game as a junior, while Saymen, 6-foot-3-inches, averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists for The Colony. The 6-foot-8-inch Kosmalski put up 16 points per game, eight rebounds and three assists.
