The fourth annual Texas Book Festival will be Friday to Sunday in Austin. Baylor alumna Gail Shelton will be signing copies of her book, Groom on the Lam, at the celebration of Texas authors and their works.

The festival is a benefit for Texas libraries and is a weekend of free book signings, readings and panel discussions.

The 1998 festival raised more than $256,000 that was awarded as grants to 107 Texas public libraries.

Shelton's book is set in Houston, where she grew up, and is a Texan version of the movie Runaway Bride.

As a child, Shelton remembers going to the Sharpstown branch library in Houston and checking out eight or 10 books. As an adult, Shelton served as a board member for the Lake Whitney Public Library.

Shelton invites everyone to stop by the romance booth, one of the 95 booths, at this year's festival.
