The 7th annual Santa's Workshop will be held Dec. 3, and children between the ages of 3 and 5 can gather to receive gifts, eat and talk to Santa and Mrs. Claus.

'It is very gratifying because you can see immediate needs that are met,' said Melissa Prihoda, coordinator of community service.

Santa's Workshop is sponsored by ARAMARK dining services, student activities, staff council and the athletic department. In the past, Santa's Workshop has brought 400 children to Baylor's campus for a holiday celebration. The goal this year has increased to 700 children.

'It is an opportunity for Baylor to work with the community and it is setting a good example of a partnership with the community,' said Brandi Ross, assistant to the vice president for human resources.

Students and staff can get involved by providing an unwrapped gift for a 3- or 4-year-old child, which can be brought to the drop boxes located in each building and in the campus dining facilities through Nov. 25. A monetary donation can also be forwarded to Staff Council (P.O. Box 97183) to help provide for other gifts.
