Volleyball team hits court against Kansas, Oklahoma

The Baylor volleyball team will be spending homecoming weekend in Waco to face two conference rivals. The Bears host the Kansas Jayhawks at 7:30 tonight at the Ferrell Special Events Center. Led by senior Nancy Bell, the Jayhawks are 14-10 on the season, 4-8 in the Big 12.

The Lady Bears will then play the Oklahoma Sooners at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Ferrell Center. Oklahoma is 8-16, 2-10 in conference play, but are coming off a 3-1 victory over the No. 21 Kansas State Wildcats. Holly McMillan and Melissa Christman led the Sooners with 20 kills each, as Oklahoma defeated its first ranked opponent of the season.

Baylor currently stands at 11-13, 4-8 in Big 12 action. The Bears feature solid starters on offense and defense as Elsiha Polk, Dana Atkinson and Kia Young have led the team in kills, blocks and digs the entire season.
