Professor to speak on

Waco socioeconomics

By Brandon Hale

Reporter for The Baylor Lariat

Dr. J. Larry Lyon, professor of sociology and director of the Center for Community Research and Development at Baylor University, will speak on the 'Socioeconomic Assessment of Waco' at 7 a.m., Tuesday Nov. 25, in the Harrington House dining room at 1313 S. Eighth St.

The lecture is part of the Breakfast at Baylor series sponsored by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and Baylor.

The series tries to provide the academic and business communities of Waco with an opportunity to enjoy breakfast, listen to a brief lecture on a current issue by a Baylor faculty member and engage in informal conversation with other guests.

Lyon will examine the current socioeconomic condition of Waco and explain the criteria used to make the evaluation.

The cost is $10 for chamber members and $15 for non-members. Also, a fact book with helpful graphs and statistics and an outline of the information Lyon will include in his lecture will be available for $5.
