The Baylor women's volleyball team is optimistic about this weekend's matches against the University of Missouri at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Iowa State at 7:30 Saturday night at the Ferrell Special Events Center.

'I think we have a little bit more confidence since we have been successful against these teams in the past,' sophomore middle blocker Kia Young said.

The last time the Fighting Bears met up with Missouri they won 3-1.

'We have to expect them to throw everything they have although they may be having the same problems we are having in terms of winning,' Head Coach Brian Hosfeld said, even though the team is confident and has been previously successful against the two teams,

Coach Hosfeld added, 'When we play these teams, because we are down there with them in terms of ranking, being eighth in the conference, they're looking at us as a possibility of another win for themselves, so we should show up and play hard.'

Baylor is aiming to improve its record for the season, which fell to 14-14 after a loss to the University of Colorado on Tuesday in three matches 15-12, 15-8, and 15-13.

'Hopefully we will be winning a few games at home. It will be fun, especially being on TV,' freshman middle blocker Dana Atkinson said.

Fox network will televise the game on Friday when the Fighting Bears play Missouri.
