Student Congress opted not to address the issue of benefits received by the student body officers at Thursday's meeting.

Currently the student body president, student body vice president, student body secretary and student body treasurer all receive 3 to 6 hour scholarships and special parking stickers from the administration upon the beginning of their terms.

At-Large Representative Colin Swindle, a Tulsa, Okla., junior, authored a bill to eliminate these benefits starting with the election of new officers.

'These benefits have pulled the officers away from being able to serve the students effectively,' Swindle said.

Student Congress postponed the bill indefinitely, however.
