Spring break has arrived, and most University students will be traveling this week. Whether it be a vacation at South Padre Island or a simple trip home, almost all students will be on the road.
Baylor athletes are no different. Seven Baylor athletic teams will be competing over the break, including the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship in Indianapolis.
vs. Nebraska, Sat., March 8 (DH) 1 p.m., March 9 at 1p.m.
The baseball team will travel to Lincoln, Neb., this weekend for a three-game series with the Cornhuskers. The Bears are 95 on the season, with the Nebraska series the second Big 12 competition of the season. Baylor is 21 in the Big 12, getting the edge in a three game series against Texas A&M earlier this season.
Oklahoma Sooner Classic vs. Notre Dame at 10 a.m. , Stephen F. Austin at 3 p.m today.
The softball team will also travel north this weekend, but their trip will stop in Norman, Okla. The Bears began play today in the Oklahoma Sooner Classic tournament, facing Notre Dame at 10 a.m. and Stephen F. Austin at 3 p.m. The team could face No. 15 ranked Oklahoma later in the tournament. The No. 24 ranked Bears are 156 in only their second season since 1988.
vs. Texas Tech Sat. at 10 a.m.and Florida State,
March 11 at 1:30 p.m.
The women's tennis team will travel to Lubbock Saturday for a conference match with Texas Tech. They return to Waco to face Florida State on March 11. The team, which is 42 on the season, will also have matches at the end of the week against conference rivals Kansas and Missouri.
vs. Texas Tech March 12, Nebraska March 15 at 2 p.m.
The men's tennis team will go to Lubbock March 12 for a conference match against Tech, followed by a March 15 match against Nebraska in Lincoln. The men are 55 this year, following back-to-back losses to AirForce and Colorado last week.
Southwestern Louisiana Classics
Baylor's men's golf team will compete in their second tournament of the spring season March 1011 at the Southwestern Louisiana Classics. The team tied for sixth at their first tournament, 10 strokes off the lead.
Great Hills Golf Club, March 1416
The women's golf team will participate in the Betsy Rawls Invitational at the Great Hills Golf Club in Austin on March 1416. The women fared well in their first tournament this year, and hope to improve over the break.
