With more than 225 organizations ranging from sport clubs to Greek organizations on campus, confusion can abound on where interests and personalities best fit ,but the premiere of Fall Fest can help.

Fall Fest, an annual event sponsored by the Student Involvement Board, is designed to promote involvement on the Baylor campus. The Fest will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fountain Mall.

'(Fall Fest) helps students to find their places, be a part of Baylor and see what's offered,' said Ashlea Everheart, Fall Fest coordinator and a Tyler senior.

Service and community groups such as Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association and the Cameron Park Zoo, will have booths alongside other groups such as the rugby and sailing sport teams, social and professional organizations, service groups, and more.

Melissa Prihoda, coordinator of student involvement and adviser for student involvement board, said it will feature games, booths, and a live disc jockey. Free Dr Pepper and door prizes from sponsors such as Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors Ice Cream and Blockbuster Video will be given away.

'We had approximately 60 groups and 600 attendees last year, and we expect to have an even better turn out this year,' Prihoda said.

Krista Meek, Residence Hall Association adviser and assistant director of residence life, said she was one of last year's attendees and was pleased with last year's results.

Meek said that Fall Fest does not help RHA get new members in the fall as applications are due earlier, but said that the event helped increase awareness of RHA on the part of dormitory residents so they could bring issues to RHA's attention. She said RHA will attend again this year, and hopes to create interest in RHA membership for spring semester applications.
