Oral History Nonprofit StoryCorps to Come to WacoOct. 11, 2010
WACO, Texas - KWBU 103.3 Fm Waco's NPR is partnering with Story Corps to bring the stories of our community to life. Be apart of the conversation of a lifetime with this oral history documentation project coming to the Greater Waco area.
StoryCorps an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one another's lives through listening, to preserve the stories of our community. StoryCorps travels the country year-round recording the stories, life experiences and memories of the people who make up our nation. These stories are archived in the Library of Congress and selected stories air every Friday on NPR's Morning Edition.
You will be able to make reservations for the Waco StoryCorps visit (Nov 26 - Dec 22) beginning Thursday, November 11 at 10 a.m. Reserved slots tend to fill quickly, so be sure you log on early November 11 to make your reservation at www.storycorps.org or call the number below. Since 2003, tens of thousands of everyday people have shared stories and conversations with loved ones through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to share and is preserved at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, and millions listening to our broadcasts on public radio and on www.storycorps.org.
