New Media Sequence

In the New Media Sequence, in addition to the basic university requirements, students beginning the program Fall 2012 or later must complete:

Required New Media Core - 30 Hours

  • JOU 2303 Reporting and Writing for Media

  • JOU 3325 Editing

  • JOU 3369 Media Design

  • JOU 4380 Law and Ethics of Journalism

    Complete one of the two following groups (12 hours)

    Group 1 (Advertising)

  • JOU 3320 Advertising Procedures

  • JOU 3321 Advertising Copywriting

  • JOU 3322 Advanced Advertising Development

  • JOU 4320 Advertising Management

    Group 2 (Photography/Videography)

  • JOU 3355 Media Photography I: Introduction

  • JOU 3356 Media Photography II: Photojournalism

  • JOU 3357 Advanced Photography

  • JOU 3358 Videojournalism

    Complete six additional semester hours of any level JOU electives, not to include JOU 3372
