RAMBI: The Index of Articles on Jewish Studies: Articles on Jewish Studies produced by the Jewish National and University Library
The Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem studies the historical, social, economic, educational, religious and cultural aspects of contemporary Jewish life. Specific databases include:
The Documentation Center in Jewish Demography and Statistics:contains more than 8,000 items, including books, pamphlets, articles (original or photocopies), computer printouts, and other research materials on the demography of World Jewry . Emphasis is placed on data from official statistical publications of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, a computerized tape library has been developed, including - among other data - files with individual records of Jews from several official censuses and special population surveys. An extensive bibliographical database referencing more than 20,000 publications in historical and contemporary demography.
The Felix Posen Bibliographic Project on Antisemitism:comprises online databases containing more than 30,000 items on antisemitism and Holocaust. New material is added on a regular basis. The Databases on Antisemitism, which share a common structure and thesaurus, are:
The Annotated Bibliography which lists publications from 1984 to the present, providing bibliographical information and an abstract on each item.
The Retrospective Bibliography which lists publications from 1983, currently comprising books and articles published between 1960-1983. Works on the Holocaust are included as part of the history of antisemitism in the 20th century.
The "Jewish Question" in German-Speaking Countries, 1848-1914, is a separate, unique bibliography/database. It is currently being expanded to include material of and about the period between 1914 and 1933.
Libraries & Archives
The Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel Aviv University seeks to contribute to the study and understanding of the modern history and current affairs of the Middle East and Africa. Includes: News, Publications, Libarary, and Lectures.
The Harry S. Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace focuses on aspects of the Arab–Israeli peace process but it also takes interest in economic, social, political, ideological, and cultural trends in the contemporary Middle East as a whole. The unit's members include Jewish and Arab scholars, both Israeli and visiting, who specialize in a variety of regional studies such as Ottoman Palestine, Iran, Turkey, and the Arab countries, mostly in the modern era.
The Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive holds over 10,000 titles on film and video, constituting one of the largest collections of Jewish documentary film footage in the world. The vaults contain material shot in Israel before and after the establishment of the State in 1948, motion picture records of many Jewish communities in the Diaspora and two special collections relating to the Holocaust.
