OsoFast, a new customized system implemented by Baylor Interlibrary Services, is available this fall to better manage interlibrary loan transactions for Baylor students, faculty and staff.
“Not only does OsoFast make staff processing easier, it heralds significant improvements on how we provide service to our clients,” said Ken Carriveau, extended library services librarian.
OsoFast allows clients to:
use a valid Bear ID and password and only log in once
choose from a wider variety of customized request forms
view copies of articles using the same login as the original request
check the status of outstanding requests through the Web at any time from any location
Since OsoFast operates independently of BearCat, ILL materials will no longer be counted toward the number of items checked out and will give clients more buffer space under the maximum item limit. Also, with OsoFast, distance education students may use the same forms to request ILL items and Baylor-owned items.
