New Arrivals in the Polk Rare Book Room

In December 2005, several books were moved from the Nursing School Library to Moody Library to be housed in the Polk Rare Book Room. Susan Bader, and her staff at the Learning Resources Center, identified these materials as needing a safer home and better access for researchers. These particular volumes were part of a gift from Franz B. Ehrhardt in the early 1980s. The dates range 1506–1620 covering subjects related to medical science.

This fall, Frank M. Wilson, Jr., graciously loaned a Vulgate Bible DeLyra, printed by N. Jenson of Venice in 1481 to Baylor Libraries. This title is one of a four-volume set. The excellent condition and original Nuremberg binding add to the value of this volume.

Many thanks to Bill Hair, Susan Bader, Susan Bowlin and Ami Hartsock for helping bring these wonderful resources to the library for our community.
