Scholars from Singapore, England, Scotland and Canada as well as those throughout the United States will present papers at a conference Sept. 16-19 at Armstrong Browning Library. George MacDonald (1824-1905), the founder of the religious fantasy literary genre, was most likely an inspiration to C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and perhaps even J.K. Rowling.
Entitled "George MacDonald and His Children: the Development of Fantasy Literature," the conference will begin with registration from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the ABL entrance foyer. It will conclude at noon on Monday, Sept. 19.
Baylor faculty and staff and all local college students will be admitted free with their ID cards.
