New VPN Client

May 23, 2011
In January 2011, ITS introduced a new VPN Client for secure access to the Baylor network. Virtual Private Network (VPN) is provided by ITS as a convenient and secure way to access certain Baylor systems, such as Banner, TRAX, BearQuest, and Kahlix from off campus. VPN is available for faculty, staff, and students (with faculty sponsor) if needed. The old VPN access will no longer be accessible beginning June 16, 2011.

You may need to update your computer to the new client now if you are still using the old VPN client. The upgrade process is the same on both the Windows or Macintosh platforms. To download the new VPN client, simply use your Internet browser and go this address:

https://babel.baylor.edu

Once you have logged in with your BearID and password, the client will be loaded onto your computer. The next time you need to use VPN access, look for the Cisco AnyConnect application or just type the web address in your browser. You will also need to remove the old VPN client from your system.

Instructions for installing the VPN profile for the iPad can be found on the ITS website under the "Security" section. Just select VPN from the drop down menu. From this web page, click on the link for the iPad instructions. This web page is also used to post all current information about VPN.
