During the night Sunday, 11/29, a power supply in the university's central telephone switch main CPU cabinet failed, leaving the campus without phone service. Using spare equipment kept on hand, ITS staff replaced the failed unit Monday morning and dial tone began being restored at approximately 8:30 am. ITS will continue to investigate the cause of the failure and monitor campus telephone service. Any area continuing to experience telephone problems should call the ITS Help Desk at extension HELP/4357.
