Today a number of people at Baylor University received a phishing email regarding "Baylor Webmail". The email asked the user to reply with their username and password. This is a scam. Higher education institutions have increasingly been targeted with these types of emails in an effort to gain access to university resources. At no time will ITS send an email asking that you reply with your username/password. If you are in any way suspicious of an email you receive please contact the Helpline (x4357) about the message.

Tips to avoid being Phished:

• Never send your username/password in an email

• Never click on links within an email message ( always type the URL in your web browser)

• Contact the HelpLine (x4357) in the event you receive an email you are unsure about
