Extended Hours for the ITS Help Desk was implemented this past fall and spring semesters. ITS partnered with Simple Technologies to provide an extended hours call center after 5:00 until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 10 PM on Fridays. To the caller, the change in service provider is transparent. The caller uses the same number (4357 or HELP). Simple Technologies uses the same Help Ticket database that full time staff use during the day.
This arrangement has been very successful and will now continue year round. When the spring semester ends in May, the service will be continued during the summer months to provide Help Desk calling until 10PM Sunday through Thursday. The service is provided to all Baylor students, faculty and staff. In addition to telephone help, the staff at Simple Technologies will also make "house calls" for various technology needs for a special Baylor price.
