- Significant elements of telephone services for the main Waco campus went down on the afternoon of Friday, March 25, 2005. Personnel worked through the evening to resolve the problems.
The majority of telephone service, including voicemail, went down due to hardware failure in the main switching systems.
Residence hall phone systems were not affected.
Top priority was given to restoring service to the Baylor Department of Public Safety (DPS) offices. Services for DPS were restored before 5:00 P.M. Repair crews continued to work through the evening to restore portions of the system.
However, the overall system could not be repaired until replacement parts arrived. As of 9:25 P.M. the new parts were installed and all systems were operating properly.
