As of early September, students no longer had access to the original BearWeb system used to view and update their information over the Web. This application accessed the University's previous student information system which became obsolete with the end of the summer terms.

When it comes to computer viruses and worms, it's better to avoid getting them than to spend time getting rid of them. If your computer gets a virus you could lose data, experience computer downtime and in extreme cases your computer may need to be taken away and rebuilt.

Three divisions of ITS have moved out of the Rogers Building. The IT Servers and Networks division under direction of Bob Hartland, Client Services directed by Vicky Gerik, and the IT Business Affairs staff moved to the Dutton Avenue Office and Parking Facility in July, 2003.

ITS staff members have begun a project to change the primary personal identifier for students, employees, and alumni in University information systems from social security number to an assigned nine digit number.

The Faculty/Staff computer give-away program will be discontinued until further notice effective January 1, 2004.

Beginning in October, Baylor's official cell phone provider will be ALLTEL. Baylor employed a formal RFP (Request For Proposal) process to make this selection. Six cell phone providers responded to our RFP with proposals for Baylor's cell phone business.
